One huge advantage it has was that it used the same lens system as existing Nikons, so new users could continue to use the range of Nikon lenses they already owned.
Choosing which D-SLR to buy can be more difficult than for a film camera because there are even more feature and options to choose from. There is also a lot of misinformation on the subject. Any information that says that one particular camera is “best” is fundamentally incorrect and should be ignored.
