The colors of the hair can actually differ. For example a pedigree Persian cat of black color would have only 1/7 of its hair as black.

The Chinchilla cats look as if they have a gleaming silver coat because they have an under coat which is pure white with black tips on the hair of the head, back, tail and flank. These cats also have white hair on their chin, chest, stomach and ear tuffs but the legs are somewhat dotted with black tips.

A most attractive feature that you will see in these cats are their black rimmed eyes which tend to give an expression of wearing eye makeup on them. You will also find that their nose and lips are outlined in black.

The tips of the cats coat are not always black as it is evident from Silver Shaded cats. You can see incredible array of colors ranging from blue to lilac to chocolate. The Silver Shaded has more shadowing in their coats when you compare them to Chinchilla. It is a pleasure to picture the wonderful outcome of these colors on the coat.

Some cats have a multiple colored under coat which has amazing result as far as their coat is concerned and are called Golden Shaded which look absolutely stunning to the eye. Another great breed is the Cameo Persian cat which has got some red tips on their coat.

All these cats are known for their beautiful dark rimmed eyes, nose and mouth, except for the Golden shaded whose eyes and nose is outlined in brown instead of black. The eye color of these cats is primarily supposed to be green or blue-green. This recognized characteristic in all Chinchilla, Golden Shaded, Silver Shaded and Cameo Persian cats helps to differentiate the pedigree because a pure-bred cats eye color will be either green or blue-green.
